St. Peter’s is a lively, open and warm community of faith. We strive to show the love of God and be more and more like Christ, individually and together.  The doors of our church—and our hearts—appreciate people of all kinds—individuals, couples and families in many forms. In worship, fellowship, study and service, we become disciples of Christ as we answer his call, “Come, follow me.” In our many varieties of Family Ministry we aim especially at promoting Christian community and ministry with and by children, youth, and adults.

Child Care Ministry:  To ensure a safe and secure environment for the most precious and most vulnerable members of our Church Family, we maintain a well equipped Nursery with a very qualified Nursery Attendant.  Our nursery attendant has a master’s degree in clinical psychology with emphasis on children. The nursery attendant is assisted by a team of well qualified volunteers. The nursery is for young children who find they are not interested in staying with their parents during worship.

Children’s Sunday School:  During worship, children ages 3-10 are encouraged to attend Sunday School where they experience age appropriate Christian teaching, music, and prayer.

Diocesan Youth Activities:  Youth at St. Peter’s are also encouraged to participate in Diocesan sponsored programs such as Happening, New Beginnings, Fall  Lock-in, Summer Camp, Episcopal Day at Great America, Mission Trips, etc.

Annual Christmas Pageant takes place on the fourth Sunday of Advent and is designed to allow our children and youth to tell the Christmas story in a special way, as well as sharing their acting and singing gifts.

Family Fun Nights: Several times a year, the Family Ministry Team sponsors an intergenerational event with activities that can be enjoyed by every age group.  Activities have included game nights, bowling and pizza, and a variety of activities at a local farm.
